The ‘Tramp Oil Separator’ removes free-oils, mechanically dispersed and loosely emulsified oils from water and Industrial Process Fluids. The ‘Tramp Oil Separator’ can be used as pretreatment to a wastewater treatment system or used to recycle and dramatically extend the life of process fluids.
The Tramp Oil Separator
Typical Applications
- Coolants (Soluble & Synthetic)
- Cooling Water
- Quench pits
- Wastewater Pre-treatment
- Parts Washers
- Mop Water
- Equipment Cleaning
- Marine
- Anywhere the separation of two immiscible fluids is required.
The ‘Tramp Oil Separator’ is designed for simple, trouble-free operation, utilizing gravity and the principle of coalescing to remove oils. Contaminated fluid flows through a series of baffles and a porous media bed where free and mechanically dispersed oils are coalesced and separated from the fluid, the clarified fluid flows from the Separator. The collected oils, bacteria slime, inverted emulsions, etc., are automatically discharged from the Separator via an adjustable weir into a suitable container. The ‘Tramp Oil Separator’ requires no consumable products. We offer a variety of solids filtration options, tankage and customized electrical controls. These systems include supply pump (air or electric) and floating pick-up. Standard units are available in mild or stainless steel with flow rates from 1gpm to 100gpm.
